Explorers, Network, Guides Senior Section, Leaders
28th September – 30th September 2018
SkyCamp is a weekend competition aimed at Explorers, Network members and Guides Senior Section. Leaders are also invited to take part
SkyCamp is now a well-established and very popular part of our Elements weekend and this year there will be a new twist. We know that you are all very accomplished at building some amazing structures in the trees, but now we would like you to become ‘at one’ with the environment around you, utilising any natural debris to form part of your build and where possible build your SkyBase to blend in so that you are heard but not seen!
As before, there will be challenges thrown in throughout the weekend… expect the unexpected!!!
There will be new limits on equipment and we encourage you to use natural debris and natural foliage and to build your home in the branches. This year, the focus will be on minimalist whilst still being functional, creative and inventive! A basic “Standard Set” of equipment will be supplied to each team, and there will be restrictions on the amount of additional equipment your team can bring.
Upon Registering you will be sent a booklet with tips and hints from the organisers. Participants will find this really useful as it gives considerable detail on what to expect and lots of advice.
Teams can consist of between 4 to 8 people
REGISTRATION, PRICES AND PAYMENT:
Competitors: £20 per person
Non Competing Leaders: No Charge (£20 for catered option)
To secure your places please send a non-refundable deposit of £10 per head (participants only).
If paying by Bank transfer please put “AIR” and your group name as the payment reference.
FOOD & CATERING:
Your team will produce its own menu and supply its own food for the entire weekend. On the Friday night before the competition starts our Burger Bar will be open selling Burgers and Chips etc.
There is a catered option for non-participating leaders.
GROUPS WITHOUT LEADERS:
Explorers without Leaders are welcome to come on a passport. Alternatively leaders are welcome to stay on site separate from their Explorers. Guide Senior Section are welcome to do the same subject to the correct procedures.
It would be most appreciated if leaders who are staying on site for the weekend could be available to help the organisers and judge here and there. Knowing in advance would be most helpful.
